The setting
A private beach on Lake Tanganyika
The beach in front of Sunstone Beach is private to the property: soft sand, loungers under the palms and warm, clear water. The lake runs west to the mountains of Congo, which take the sun down behind them each evening.
Behind the sand are the gardens, the flagstone terraces and the thatched dining room and bar. It is a small place, at Kagongo in Rumonge Province, 59.4 km south of Bujumbura on the R.N.3 — close enough for guests to reach easily, far enough to have the day to yourselves.

Stay on afterwards
Our villas, bungalows and tents each have a king bed and their own terrace or balcony, and several sit right at the water’s edge. Wake to the lake, spend the day on the sand, and take a table for two on the terrace as the light goes.
The restaurant serves from 06:30 to 22:30 and the bar from 07:00, where our mixologist makes classic and signature cocktails. We arrange transfers to and from Bujumbura by road or by boat, so you need not think about the journey.
